I'm glad they showed the video of his dad going to work 3rd shift at UPS because most people don't realize the struggle the *entire* family goes through as well just for daily living. I noticed on his website that their house isn't really handicap accessible...it was cool how on the website it said "if Ty Pennington reads this, we need a little extreme home makeover help" :)) The power of the Internet! God bless the Hughes family!! Definitely a highlight to the day!

8 total - counting the main campus. Some of the sites will need significant hardware upgrades to handle the wirelss traffic this will generate both internally and externally.

The WCA plane (a corporate type small jet) was purchased many years ago by several business men/members who wanted to do something in a large way to support Bill's/WCA ministry. The idea of the plane came up as Bill was struggling with how to accomodate all the places he was asked/lead to go/speak etc. - but wound up being held up by commercial airline use and the limitations of that. The private plane allowed him to buzz in/buzz out at will and be back at Willow to teach/lead. This was some 10 years ago or so I think when this was done. (I was on staff then.) A corporate jet of this sort, as any airplane, actually APPRECIATES in value with airtime, unlike cars, so it's an investement. They felt that if it didn't work out, they could sell it and actually make money. As well, when it's not being used, it's leased out to other orgs/business so it actually generates revenue. I guess this is common with corporate jets all over.

After the session ended, Kirk Franklin and crew did like a 20 minute jam session!! Some kid was podcasting it on his mac via wireless and Kirk saw it and during a song had the kid bring it up on the stage and he totally personalized the podcast...it was CRAZY cool! If that kids reading this blog, I'm hoping he will post the URL to his podcast

Saturday's session. I can say "I WAS THERE!" There were so many massive moments in these sessions. I had forgotten how much my heart can be moved. Wow. And the ending, again I'll say it, "I WAS THERE!" Kirk Franklin was waving at like 8 Asians peeps behind me. Kirk asked them where they were from (while dancing and keeping the celebration going). My new friend Won Seuk yelled in broken English, "South Korea!" Kirk goes, "What?!" Won Seuk tried again. Kirk's like, "WHA?!" So Won Seuk gave his WCA Badge to him and Kirk's like "Can I give a shout out to SOUTH KOREA!" The Asians behind me went bananas (I did too just for the heck of it). Then this white guy gives his badge to Kirk and Dr. Franklin says, "Let's give a shout out to CANADA!" The badges ended up raining on Kirk like Jackie Chan throwing chinese stars at Chris Tucker in Rush Hour 5. Kirk's screaming with glee "BRAZIL! SHRI LANKA (I can't even pronounce it)! GERMANY! AUSTRALIA! SOUTH AFRICA! SOUTH BARRINGTON! CALIFORNIA! NORWAY! NASHVILLE! INDONESIA! I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MANY PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE WORLD ARE HERE!!" Neither could I. Meanwhile we were all jumping around like 3 year olds in a United Colors of Benetton commercial - too much fun!! Someone's gotta replay this on the big screen. It was INSANE!!!

Thanks for this blog...my hubby and I attended this year in NJ and went right into vacation mode...now the rains have kept me indoors to enjoy your blog...so thanks for doing this and keeping it active for a while. Loved Bill Hybels' talk, as always. His ideas on self-motivation are so key to us as believers and I think ties into the REVEAL concept of needing to "self-feed" -- as believers we also need to self-motivate and self-inspire or much better put, we need to continually tap into the Spirit of Christ ourselves and get this directly from Him. When we look to this inspiration and feeding from others and are disappointed...well duh! He alone is worthy and can depended on in all situations. So thanks for the how-to tap into the power of Christ's inspiration, Bill! This is my 6th Summit and I would not miss it for the world, until Christ takes me home, I'm there.

Hi Bill, as Patrick Hughes played on the Keybord and the horn, I was reminded of a story that inspires me - A 20th child Prematurely born weighing 4.5 pounds into a large poor family of 22 children, plagued by all manner of illnesses including a crippling bout with polio in a racial segregated society, Wilma Rudolph's doctor said she would never walk. She became the first American woman to win 3 gold medals in one olympic! I live in Nairobi Kenya and this was my first time to attend the Global Leadersip Summit sponsored by friends. I was thoroughly challenged. I feel I have missed alot since there have been others - I wish I could have them. Am sure my life and ministry would have been much better. I don't want to miss any in future. Baraka (Swahili word for blessings)
