Your Responses to Session 4!

Here are some of the comments we've received by text or email...

"Bill, you asked to be rocked. Efrem Smith rocked the house! Just awesome!"

Here are some responses we've encountered in the blogosphere...

"I have been in student ministry for 14 years and have worked for a variety of leaders and I want you to know that John is the real deal. What he is saying, writing, and promoting is actually taking place. What you see is what you get from John."

"Today's speakers were thorough, intentional, and full of vision to see transformed communities in our nation. The speakers' challenges today resonated with Paul's plea to 'not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of [our] minds' (Rom 12:2) in order that we would understand our role as change agents where we are. I believe Efrem Smith summed it up best in a vision piece written for his own community in North Minneapolis: 'We believe God is looking for people to be his hands, his feet, his justice, his mercy, his compassion, and his love to this community.'"

I am new to ministry. This was my first time going to a leadership conference for ministers. I walked away so ready to implement the things that God has laid on my heart. I have been wanting to make changes but felt like everyone wanted the status quo. I learned that I have to challenge my students and my adult leadership to go further. John is someone that I could admire. Here he was stepping up as the alternative guy. Which of course I was looking forward to. I laughed as my Senior pastor realized that the alternative guy used the most scripture. Thank you so much for showing my pastor that you can be alternative, exciting, and use scripture to do so.

Thank you so much for once again, an awesome conference. I enjoyed John Burke and Efrem Smith the most and wished they had been alotted a longer time. They both spoke on issues close to my heart and I was sitting there, crying, because I knew God had placed me in that seat to hear both John and Efrem. Thank you Bill Hybels and the Summit team for awesome work, I will look forward to next year and plan to bring others with me.

John Burke & Efrem Smith certainly rocked the house on Thursday afternoon. It's great to hear your testimonies about how God was using these two pastors to speak into the hearts and minds of leaders like yourselves. Thank you, Steven and Stephanie - I can't tell you how exciting and encouraging it is to hear your thoughts. It was wonderful to hear a call to redemptive grace, without sacrificing solid biblical truth. We're already looking forward to next year!
