Leadership 2008

Q & A - Craig Groeschel - Where can I find Craig's Franciscan prayer?

Q: Is there a way to get a copy of the Franciscan prayer Craig recited at the end of his session?

A: You can find it right here.  We pulled it from Swerve, Craig's blog.

May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships, so that you may live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.

May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, and war, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and to turn their pain in to joy.

And may God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world, so that you can do what others claim cannot be done.

I've never felt so inspired AND so convicted! Are the last two videos that were shown during Bill's talk on Mother Theresa (the pictorial essay and Chris Tomlin's The City) on youtube? I think they could witness across church lines to a lot of people and you could give contact info for your church. What a great 2 days! Thank you WC

I echo Diana's question. Where can I beg/buy the videos used at the Summit- especially "Do you know him?" and the "Here I am send me". My first and definitely not last Leadership Summit. It is amazing- I am not alone out there in small ministry!!

Wow... this was my first Summit, and I am utterly amazed. Bill's last talk, as well as Gary Haugen's message, the session with John Burke and Efrem Smith stand out for me, as does Craig Groeschel's talk. Thanks for putting on such an outstanding event!

I am just starting my journey with God and I have to say this has been one of the most moving, engaging experiences I have witnessed. As Bill stated at the end, even without the rockstars and celebrities, it was incredible.

This is my first Summit ever, but will not be my last, it will be a Necessary event every year. I have been challenged in so many ways. Such as "Get off the Fence or quit pretending". I have always loved Mother Teresa, but even more now, Because her words shared today, were used by God to cause me to make Great commitments from my heart to God. Thank you Father for the leaders that have gathered to share this information with us. Lord, cause us to walk as YOU walk. Here am I Lord, send me. Bless our leaders, Lord. Thank you all.

I was just telling some fellow attenders that I have seen a real shift in the Leadership Summit from an evangelism outreach underlying theme to a theme of social justice. And my comment was that I am grateful for the shift, I have always felt more a bent to do as St Francis said, "Go and preach the good news, and use words if necessary." Thank you for a 'wonder' filled Summit!

Bill Hybels talked about a sermon he preached on baptism called "Faith with guts" and he gave out towels after wards. Where can I get a copy of that?

Thank you, everyone who helped make this event happen. Special thanks to the tenacious Bill Hybels, who continues to press on despite the odds and who encourages me with his unexpected humility and courage to change. I have blogged my thoughts and impressions further if anyone cares to read them (www.doableevangelism.com/dethoughts). I'll be back next year.

the 2008 Summit was my first Christian "conference." I have previously attended work (secular) conferences. I have never come out of a conference feeling so challenged, engaged, wanting to be "part of." I found all the speaker incredibly authentic --- the line up of speakers was fantastic!! I was so much moved by the fact that each of the speakers seemed to have a special connection with God. That made brought in a unique spiritual flavor to their presentations. May the Lord continue to guide the conference organisers as they lead His flock. I am telling everyone about the Summit --- I plan to be a regular attendee. QUESTION: Do you offer DVD's for individual presenters? The entire package is too expensive. I would like to purchase a few selected DVDs.

Wanja -- If you go to willowcreek.com and search for the particular session titles you want, you should be able to buy just that DVD (or CD).

Wanja - hi this is Ray from the Summit Team, just wanted to let you know that we do have both CD's ($10) and DVD's ($20) available for each of the Summit sessions this year. You can find these by searching for the session title in our WCA Store (willowcreek.org/resources). We'll work to make these easier to find in the days to come. Thanks so much for your encouragement - we are exhausted, but so, so excited for how God moved in many hearts like yours!

I've been to 5 or 6 Summits, but I have to say that, top to bottom, this was the best one ever. Bill nailed it, as always, but for me, Craig's "IT" talk was the one that God used the most. He filled Craig's words and applied them to MY heart, then to our church. Great stuff!

Is it possible to get the words and music for the song, First Love? I love listening to it on-line but I would love for our church to be able to use the song in worship.

Once again the Summit in Port Elizabeth, South Africa has been a wonderful experience. It is an annual opportunity to be enegized, to refocus on what the Lord is doing in the world today, and to take stock of where you are in doing God's work. Thanks to Pastor Bill and the team. You guys are great! May the Lord use you more and more in the building of His body.
