My heart goes out to his family and his congregation. I also believe this tragedy raises the question of security in our churches

re: Pastoral Security in the Pulpit

we have been having those conversations again. we have come to the same conclusion that you seem to have come to.
we will trust God to protect us but will also be on high alert at all times for people that might be unstable. we have and will continue to train our ushers and security team members on things to watch for in a person&#39;s behavior that might be considered dangerous.
we do employ an undercover security guard in addition to our volunteer staff. While this person can only be in one place at a time it does give us very quick access to a person skilled in handling crisis situations. <img src="http://spin.willowcreek.com/c/aggbug.aspx?PostID=49691" width="1" height="1">
