How are you feeling?

Do you feel tired most of the time?

Do you have a difficult time relaxing?

Do you think the 4 basic food groups include McDonald’s, Taco Bell, In & Out and Wendy’s?

Do you exercise regularly?  Do you exercise at all?

Are you impatient?  Frustrated?  Depressed?

Are you feeling anxious?  Helpless?  Hopeless?

Are you avoiding accountable relationships?

Are you feeling spiritually empty?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions you should read the book Mad Church Disease by Anne Jackson.  Actually, if you serve at a church in a paid or a volunteer capacity you should read this book. If you are thinking of serving in any capacity, you should read Mad Church Disease.

Mad church disease, also known as burnout, is a high risk condition affecting the physical, emotional, mental and soul of those serving in the local church. There are 1,000 of people serving in churches all across the globe who suffer from this disease, many go undiagnosed from years.  Untreated this illness cost some their family, their health, their ministry and possibly their relationship with God.

Anyone who serves in the church is at risk for Mad Church Disease.  Learn about it today and protect yourself from MCD.

Seriously … this was a great book.  Anne did a fantastic job at identifying a problem within the church.  She gives readers a clear picture of what many of us have and are experiencing in ministry.  She helps you diagnose where you are at and then gives suggestions for how to live & minister in a way that honors God.  This is a good tool for leaders and for teams to work through together.
