Tina Fey Rocks on SNL

This weekend was devastating for victims of Hurricane Ike, and my heart goes out to all those who are still without power, and in some cases, without homes. Here in Chicago, we had the most rain ever in a weekend, and lots of flooding in some areas. But it can't compare to the devastation in Texas and other coastal regions.
In the midst of all that suffering, it was odd to find myself laughing hard for just a few minutes as Tina Fey expertly mimicked Sarah Palin alongside her comedy partner, Amy Poehler, portraying Hillary Clinton. For those who missed the first few minutes of Saturday Night Live, and especially for those who appreciate brilliant comedic writing and acting, do whatever you can to find that piece. I still can't get over the details Tina Fey captured of Sarah Palin's mannerisms, vocal patterns, and overall look. It was masterful...and very, very funny no matter where you stand politically. Laughter is such a profound gift from God.
May this week of recovery for so many Americans include profound moments of hope, healing, and unexpected help from neighbors and strangers. It's so good to see the sun shining today.
